Weekly Tittle

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.

Just Do It

This week’s assignment is to spend a moment living your dream of life in an uncluttered space, no matter how far away you are from your organizing goals:

  • In our survey for this week’s show, we asked our audience to “describe how your life would be different if all of your clutter disappeared overnight. What new or former activities, experiences, or things would you invite into your space?” If you haven’t already answered this question, please take a few moments to do so.
  • Now find some small way in which you can experience a taste of the life you want. For example:
    • If your dream is to have more time and space for art, crafts, or hobbies, set aside half an hour this week to get out a few supplies and have fun.
    • If your dream is to cook or to entertain, clear enough space to prepare a simple dish. If you’re not comfortable yet having company, ask a friend if you can bring over lunch to share.
    • If your dream is to relax, exercise, or meditate in clutter-free space, clear a little space on the floor and do whatever small activity you can in service of your goal or objective.
  • The goal here is to get a taste of what you’re missing to refresh your soul and leave yourself feeling more energized to return to the work of decluttering and organizing.
