Weekly Tittle

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.

Move Debris

This week’s assignment is to process something in your space that’s left over from a previous move:

  • Review your space to identify any of the following types of “move debris”:
    • A box, bag, or bin of contents that you tucked away in a closet or other hidden spot and never unpacked. An item of furniture you brought from your previous home that has never fit or worked well in your current space.
    • An item of decor from your previous space that doesn’t match the style or aesthetic of your current space.
    • A duplicate or redundant item that made sense in a previous larger space but doesn’t fit or isn’t necessary in your downsized space.
    • A housewarming gift that you’ve never used, needed, or enjoyed.
    • Empty boxes, packing materials, tape, or other moving supplies beyond any future need that you can anticipate.
  • Make a plan to sell, donate, recycle, or discard the item(s) you identified this week.
