Weekly Tittle

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.

Take Out the Garbage

Since we didn’t pick a dominant theme for this week’s show, we’re keeping the tittle very basic! This week’s assignment is to go for a quick, easy win by removing any obvious clutter that might have turned up recently:

  • Make a pass through every room or area of your home that gets regular or frequent use.
  • Remove and discard any obvious debris from the routine of living—food wrappers, discarded mail, empty delivery boxes, etc.
  • Collect any dirty dishes or drinking vessels and return them to the kitchen.
  • Gather recyclable items into the appropriate receptacles.
  • Return anything that’s obviously out of place to its proper location in your home.
  • If you get through all of the previous steps without finding anything that needed attention, cheers for you! Try to take a fresh look at your space to determine whether there’s anything you might shift this week to optimize enjoyment of your home.
