The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.

Turning Priorities into Plans

This week’s assignment is to apply the first prioritizing principle to a single room or section of a room in your space:

• Identity the room or part of a room that gives you the most discomfort—a place that looks or feels crowded, confused, or unattractive to you.
• Write down the purpose (or purposes) that you would like for your problem spot to serve.
• Make a second list of all the uses that the problem space is currently serving, whether intended or not.
• Notice any uses or purposes on the second list that are not on the first list.
• Keep these lists for reference to guide further planning when you’re ready to move forward with the next steps for tackling the space in question.
