The Clutter Fairy Weekly #166
Cradle to Cane: Advantages of Organized Space in All Life’s Stages
Many people come to decluttering late in life, addressing the accumulation of stuff only after it’s been piling up for decades. But it’s never too soon—or too late—to get organized. In episode #166 of The Clutter Fairy Weekly, Gayle Goddard, professional organizer and owner of The Clutter Fairy in Houston, Texas, talks about how people of almost any age can benefit from a clear, clutter-free home.

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.
A Clearer Vision
This week’s assignment is to create a vision for how decluttering and getting organized is going to benefit you:
- Reflect on the reasons you’ve decided to reduce the clutter in your space and/or to get organized.
- Write down specific benefits that you expect to gain by completing your organizing project(s). If you have trouble getting started, try brainstorming various ways to complete the following sentences:
- “When I’m organized, I will be —”
- “When I’m organized, I will do —”
- “When I’m organized, I will have —”
- Design a vision board to highlight the elements of the vision for your more-organized life that you’ve expressed. Take a piece of poster or construction paper and decorate it with your statements, plus images from magazines, catalogs, advertisements, or other sources that illustrate your goals and aspirations.

One of the reasons that I have had for decluttering, has been the practical aspect of just having more space and not so many things that can get in the way when I just need to get dressed or cook something. These last few months have been hectic when my husband and I have had to deal with my mother’s health suddenly deteriorating quickly. The areas that “just work” have served us so well. I have not had the energy to do the happy dance very vigorously, but it’s a lovely comfort when I just find it easy to manage in our home and on the way out for whatever comes up. This is a seriously strong booster for continuing now that things are more settled and I again have some time. So, when I am organised, I will have that mini happy dance in my heart more and more often, and be grateful that our home is serving us so well. Many thanks to Gayle, Ed and all participants 🦋
Really like this weeks Tittle…love cutting/pasting pictures yet I was unable to up load for sharing the powerful impact this past Tittle had with me:
“When I’m organized, I will be free of the final Clutter Hoard pile…
in my living space/home that confronts My Living IN my Space/home”…
“When I’m organized, I will do the hard won keystone habits each day of keeping my life clutter/hoard free!…”
“When I’m organized, I will have the pure, organic pleasure of Living in my own home as I did in my former home…”
