Weekly Tittle

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.

You Really Can’t Take it With You

This week’s assignment is to start preparing for when your survivors have to clear your eventual estate:

  • Think about the stuff that you’re planning to leave to family members or friends. Consider what you might be ready to give away now so that they can start enjoying it right away.
  • If you’re not ready to give things away now, you can still start a list of bequests. Create a guide to indicate which items you intend to leave to specific people.
  • Make a list of favorite charities that you’d like to support with your estate—organizations whose missions you endorse. Designate items that you want donated to these charitable groups.
