The studio where an artist or crafter works can be the birthplace of genius…or the place where great ideas go to die. The difference is sometimes just a matter of organization—being able to see, find, and use the beautiful materials that inspire and feed your creativity. For the next meeting of the Houston Clutter Coaching Meetup Group, we’ll talk about how to know when your studio has stopped supporting your work. We’ll suggest a few ideas to reset your creative space and refresh your creative soul.
This will be a “Clutter Conversation” online event. We’ll meet using the Zoom.us video-conferencing app, a free tool that allows us to share a conversation as streaming video and take questions from the audience. Up to 100 people can participate live, and as always, we’ll record the event to post on YouTube.
RSVP at Meetup.com or by sending e-mail.
If you’ve never used Zoom before, your device will download a small, free app that will enable you to participate. (Zoom is very easy to use, but we suggest clicking the link a few minutes before the meeting starts to download the app and take a look around the interface. The next time you join a meeting, you won’t have to download the app again.)
- To comment by video: Make sure your camera is on. Use the “raise hand” button in the chat area of the Zoom interface to let us know you’d like to speak and that you’re willing to appear on video. We’ll be moderating the event, and if we see your hand raised and your camera on, we’ll introduce you, then turn on your microphone and enable your video.
- To comment by audio: Make sure your camera (if you’re on a device that has one) is turned off. Use the “raise hand” button to let us know you’d like to speak. We’ll introduce you, then turn on your microphone so you can ask your question or comment.
- To share a comment by chat: Type your comment into the chat area of the Zoom interface. You may share it with everyone, or direct it only to the host. We’ll announce your comment or question at an appropriate moment.
Note: If you’d like to remain anonymous, please rename yourself as “Anonymous” or a pseudonym when you sign on to Zoom, or let us know via chat before we call on you or announce your comment or question.
Important: Please note that your participation by video or audio signifies your consent to use your image and voice in video and audio recordings of the event, which will be posted in public forums including (but not limited to) The Clutter Fairy YouTube channel, our web site, and our Facebook page.
We hope you’ll join us!
