The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.
An Unpacking Challenge
This week’s assignment follows our unpacking theme, but we’ve prepared options for everyone, even if you’re not currently unpacking from a move:
- If you’re preparing for a move, start planning now for your unpacking process. Decide where furniture will go in the new space. And not just the furniture; now is a good time to think about where all your other stuff will go, too. Make a plan, and make it as specific as possible.
- If you’ve moved in recent years, look for the box or boxes that remain from your last move. Now is the time to face them. Make a date with yourself to open those boxes and deal with their contents. They’ve been marinating for a while, and it’s time to face them.
- Even if you don’t think that you have anything left to unpack from a move, poke around in your closet, storage space, garage, or attic for any unopened box whose contents you’ve forgotten about. Open it up and evaluate whether this is stuff that you still want or need.
