The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.
Up Against the Wall
Since our inspiration for this episode was walls, we present a wall-themed tittle for your enjoyment. Start by identifying the wall or section of a wall in your home that has the most stuff on it, one that was decorated a while ago, or one that just doesn’t look quite right to you. Ask yourself any or all of these questions:
- Do you still like all of the items on display here?
- Be brutally honest: Is there anything here that reflects a bad choice—a gift you never loved, a fad that came and went, a mismatched color?
- Is there anything hanging here that reflects a taste you’ve moved on from or grown out of?
- Could the layout be changed to make the display more interesting and appealing?
- Is it time to refresh the photos?
If you don’t suffer from decor clutter or have a wall that fits the bill, here are a couple of alternative assignments just for you:
- Look at a collection you own and consider whether all of the items in it still fit your current sense of style.
- Take inventory of your seasonal-decor collection. Eliminate any items that no longer suit your taste.
