The Clutter Fairy Weekly #191
Plan Ahead: Hit the Reset Button for You and Your Space in 2024
The new year is a great time to “hit reset”: to refresh your priorities, revisit your goals, and reconsider your habits and behaviors. The more thought you put into your reset process, the more success you’re likely to achieve. In episode #191 of The Clutter Fairy Weekly, Gayle Goddard, professional organizer and owner of The Clutter Fairy in Houston, Texas, discusses how to hit reset on organizing projects, the pros and cons of resolutions, and tips for planning a successful “Get Organized Month.”

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.
Making a List, Checking it (at Least) Twice…
This week’s assignment is to begin making plans for your 2024 decluttering and organizing journey, if you haven’t already done so:
- Identify one to three goals or objectives in the clutter realm that you’d like to accomplish in the coming year.
- Write down each objective at the top of a sheet of lined paper or a page of a notebook you’ve dedicated for this purpose. Be sure to describe the specific result or end state that you’re envisioning!
- For each of the targets you’ve selected, write down one action item you’ll need to carry out to move toward your goal.
- Revisit your list or lists at least once a week between now and the new year to add additional action steps as they occur to you.
For the full discussion of this week’s tittle, watch the Weekly Tittle segment on YouTube.
Ok – my clutter target with in this Tittle’s realm :
2024 = “Clear My Kitchen Floor!”
I love food and love to eat yet I do not need T H R E E refrigerators.
In humor – I decided NOT to clean my old one as I had saved and bought another that fits my needs for self-care, supports my physical disability and is so clean and “pretty” inside. Here are my 3 in writing clutter targets:
1. Get old fridge moved out of kitchen. 2. Offer it forward for a family in need to receive (they clean and move it) 3. Embrace the 6′ by 7′ clear kitchen floor space as I decide how to re-organize my space for nurturing myself. A simple start to this upcoming new year. Great Tittle and I thank you for these forward steps. Marsh.
