Survey #158 Response from Anonymous user
Which of the following statements describe the help you’ve received in managing your organizing projects? (Check all that apply or have applied in the past.) |
|
---|---|
If you selected “Other” above, please elaborate: | I pay a young woman to do my heavy cleaning, because I have health issues. She gets to pick from what is being decluttered. Win-win for both of us, because it's gone from my house and she can use it. |
Where do you shop for organizing products? (Check all that apply.) |
|
If you selected “Other” above, please elaborate: | Dollarstore, Dollarama, Great Canadian Dollar Store |
Describe an organizing product, resource, book, video, or other solution that you bought but never used—at least not for the purpose for which you purchased it. | "Use it up. Wear it out. Make it do, or do without" Everything I've bought in the way of an organizing product has been used, but not necessarily for its' original purpose. (eg.: office products in the bathroom, kitchen products in the office, etc.) They may travel from space to space as my needs change, but I repurpose things over and over. |
For which collections or categories of stuff do you find it difficult to obtain or employ organizing and storage solutions, and why? | photos and family memorabilia |
What’s your personal favorite inexpensive or free organizing solution? We’d love to hear about furniture, shipping boxes, food containers, craft supplies, or other unlikely items that you’ve ingeniously repurposed to hold your stuff. | I use small bath/kitchen containers from the dollar store to hold socks, undies, leggings, etc., in my bureau. I use one for each type of clothing and fold everything the Kondo way. Measure the drawer and get multiples of the same type, so that it always looks neat and "pretty". |
Future topics | Please revisit how to get a spouse on board, other than working away on your own and hoping to inspire by example. And books!! Hubby doesn't want to get rid of books that he hasn't read in over 40 years and probably will never reread. |
