Survey #160 Response from Darlene
Pronouns | She/her |
---|---|
Briefly describe the category or collection of items. | I have a lot of houseplants. Several years ago, during the dreary winter months, I invented a new holiday for myself. January, February and March are "Buy yourself a houseplant and feel happy" months. |
Which of these statements best describes your strategy or approach for keeping the category of stuff you described above under control? | I have designed my storage system for this category to include space for future purchases. |
Describe any issues you experience with using, storing, displaying, cleaning, maintaining, or organizing the category or collection you described above. | It can become a chore to take care of too many plants. I have been learning to stop trying to save every plant and send sad looking ones to the compost pile. |
Does you home have a “command center”—a spot where you spend a significant amount of time in a variety of activities (e.g., watching TV, reading, doing paperwork, eating meals or snacks, etc.)? | Yes |
Where is your command center? | Desk in the kitchen |
If you sit in your command center and look around you, which of the following items are within close reach? |
|
How well does your command center fulfill the functions for which you use it? | Works well as long as I do the "work", i.e keep discarding junk mail, paying pills as they come in, filing paperwork as needed, etc. I made a basket for catalogs, and go through it every week, throwing some into the recycling. Truth is, I rarely use catalogs anymore. |
