What are your most compelling reasons to reduce clutter and/or to get organized? These may include your personal goals, work objectives, plans, fears, physical limitations, lifestyle choices, family history, etc. | I wish to comfortably manage the stuff I decide to keep. Really, that's it. I downsized dramatically last year and am very happy with far fewer belongings. But what remains fit easily in my larger home and doesn't quite work right in smaller quarters so more needs to go. |
What external factors drive or support your organizing efforts? Think about positive or negative signals from outside yourself that influence your desire or inclination to declutter and organize. (Examples: pressure from your spouse, stuff inherited from elder family members, a need to work from home, etc.) | None really. I have a few items from family I'd like to get rid of but they fit into one box so aren't a major problem. |
What internal factors support your organizing efforts? Think about positive or negative thoughts or feelings that influence your desire or inclination to declutter and organize. (Examples: the urge to start a new hobby, feelings of guilt or shame, a desire to share your surplus with people who need it, etc.) | I don't feel any guilt or shame over previous decisions to accumulate items. Those things suited my life at that point and no longer do so. I'm happy to pass items along to people who want or need them now. |
What is the most exciting way in which your life will be different when you achieve your organizing goal(s)? | Not very exciting but cleaning will take less time. That's a huge plus. |
