Survey #166 Response from Anonymous user
Tell us about a memory of a person or incident from the formative years of your life that influenced your attitudes and emotions about belongings, clutter, organizing, or any related subject. (For example: “Grandma’s house was packed to the rafters with stuff.”) | I don’t remember my paternal grandma with much stuff around. My mom’s house was such a clutter chaos at the last place we lived (1970-1993, until she passed away). I inherited that gene, my sister did not. She is a clean freak. I wasn’t too bad until my kids got in middle school. I just couldn’t throw anything away. |

What is the strongest memory to which you feel connected by way of an object, such as a souvenir, photo, or keepsake? | I have a photo of my mom and her brother when washer was about 3, he was about 2. It is so special to me, since my mom is no longer living. |
Future topics | I have moved numerous things to the basement or garage so we could paint prior to new carpet in 3 rooms. My issue is now how to get going on removing what I don’t want or need. What would the best process be to clear out some of the stuff and keep going. I don’t want to bring some of the stuff back in the clear rooms. Obviously, I need some things, but trying to limit the items. I know I shouldn’t stuff shift, but didn’t have time to go though them. |
