Name the hobby, craft, art form, or other recreational activity that contributes the most stuff to your living space, including raw materials, tools, equipment, other supplies, reference materials, specialized furniture, etc. | knitting |
Reflecting on your answer to the previous question, describe the part of the activity that contributes most to the clutter in your home. Your answer may be based on volume, size, complexity, or any other factor that makes it difficult to store and manage the stuff for your activity. | bins of knitting wool occupying my living room, no free space on the floor, the example phrase was quite fitting |
Reflecting on your answer to the first question, describe how the cluttered state of stuff related to this activity negatively impacts your ability to carry out or enjoy the activity. | it puts pressure on me to knit faster, but the nature of knitting allows me to knit, because the activity of knitting takes up no space, which us why it took over, while blocking other creative expressions, like sewing, which I cannot do anymore |
About how much time do you spend on the activity in question in an average week? | 15 hours minimum probably closer to 25-30 |
What is the hobby, craft, art form, or other recreational activity that you think EVERYONE should try? | To each their own, I think everything has some unique aspects to it, on every level, I think the most important thing is exploring sole form, any form of creative expression, deeply healing and nurturing |
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). | I am more and more aware of how my clutter is connected to a crisis in identity at this point in my life, letting go is extremely hard because I am confused about who I really am and what I really want to do, be, wear, etc. Maybe this is shared bu other people? clutter and identity |
Future topics | letting go |
