Takes up literally 40% of my belongings. |

Reflecting on your answer to the previous question, describe the part of the activity that contributes most to the clutter in your home. Your answer may be based on volume, size, complexity, or any other factor that makes it difficult to store and manage the stuff for your activity. | boxes with the supplies and all the fabric. The upply of fabric wiould never end, but I bought too much of it for the fear of fabric apocalypse and now I have to use it up. I've given awy a lot, but what I've left is really to be used. So now I promised myself not to visit the fabric shop anymore. |
Reflecting on your answer to the first question, describe how the cluttered state of stuff related to this activity negatively impacts your ability to carry out or enjoy the activity. | I feel like if I don't use it up, it'll be wasted. But it takes away the fun of being super spontaneous. I mean, I need a plan and being consecutive about it so as to use up the fabric before my love for the hobby dies 🙂 |
About how much time do you spend on the activity in question in an average week? | 2-5 hours on average. Sometimes going weeks without it, then a whole weekend stuck to my sewing machine. |
What is the hobby, craft, art form, or other recreational activity that you think EVERYONE should try? | painting. It's fun to express youself regardless of whether you're good at it. the colours and shapes!! |
Name one or more of your favorite Clutter Fairy-isms (e.g., “thin the herd”) or decluttering and organizing mnemonic devices (e.g., OHIO—Only Handle It Once). | never leave your room empty-handed 🙂 I try it with cups and dishes. Thank you 😀 |
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). | What does YOUR crafting space look like, Gayle? I mean, especially how do you organize the little boxes -inside-boxes? Are you a visual, where "off your sight-off your mind" when you need to see all your supplies, otherwise you'll forget to use them? AND Ed, do you have your crafting space as well? I know you like cooking, but what about crafting/art? Happy September to both of you 😀 |
Future topics | food supplies, especially when you're shopping on sale. Even if you ARE going to eat it (you know well you like the flaour), where do you draw the line? |
