PronounsShe/her
Name the hobby, craft, art form, or other recreational activity that contributes the most stuff to your living space, including raw materials, tools, equipment, other supplies, reference materials, specialized furniture, etc.Knitting, crochet, and cross stitch.
Reflecting on your answer to the previous question, describe the part of the activity that contributes most to the clutter in your home. Your answer may be based on volume, size, complexity, or any other factor that makes it difficult to store and manage the stuff for your activity.Even though I culled and donated (Texas Art Asylum FTW!) a lot of my yarn stash earlier this year, I still have way more than I can use in my lifetime. I need to make a bit more room to organize the cross stitch supplies and charts better.
Reflecting on your answer to the first question, describe how the cluttered state of stuff related to this activity negatively impacts your ability to carry out or enjoy the activity. It's hard to find things, hard to remember what I already have.
About how much time do you spend on the activity in question in an average week?Almost none n the knitting and crocheting these days b/c I'm obsessed with the cross stitch. Maybe an hour or two to knit or crochet, double that for x-stitch.
What is the hobby, craft, art form, or other recreational activity that you think EVERYONE should try?Walking in nature when the weather isn't out to kill us. Cross stitch is inexpensive compared to needlepoint and has come a long way in terms of design over the last 20 years.
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s).I'm a senior, have issues with arthritis that have contributed to my inability to deal with clutter and house cleaning. I need help with both the above, plus an organizer. Which pro do I start with? Do organizers help with decluttering?
