Describe an item or collection that you’re rationally prepared to release, but something always seems to keep you from making the final decision to let it go. | sometimes sitting on my entry table. I paid very little for it. antique looking but doesn't fit in. it's like a mini huch empty NOTHING IN IT. My MOTHER just went in a nursing home on Friday the 29th after living with me and my husband and I am also feeling paralyzed with her stuff. She has such beautiful things I really don't need. Still trying to get my minimalist/ decluttered Home. HELP! |
How do you feel when you think about letting go of the item you described in your answer to the previous question? | I'm going to regret it after it's gone 😪. I'll find the spot for it or a purpose for it and anxious |
Complete the following statement: “I know I won’t keep this item forever, so I would like ___.” | to anyone who can get good use out of it |
Fill in the blank: “Watching and listening to The Clutter Fairy Weekly makes me want to try ___.” | living with less |
Name one or more of your favorite Clutter Fairy-isms (e.g., “thin the herd”) or decluttering and organizing mnemonic devices (e.g., OHIO—Only Handle It Once). | better to give than receive. Letting go =peace, joy and freedom |
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). | Why is this so Difficult. I do know I'm someone that needs my hand held with accountability. I have no one in my Tribe that gets this right now. I started with a friend and I ened up helping her get rid of some stuff. she was not able to help me and just criticize. have been trying to do in on my own for year made some progress. However feel like I'm drowning . With my mom living with me for the past 4 years wanting her to feel comfortable she had her own dishes and appliances and food, with one kitchen giving her designated cabinets and small fridge. I'm feeling overwhelmed now that she moved in to a LTC facility. (? Where do I start 🤔?.) (? how can I get help? ) |
Future topics | declutter party or starting a support group in my area PA Poconos |

Suzanne:
Hang in there! These past few years have been about caring for and ensuring your mother’s comfort. You’re fresh-going through a transition and you need to be kind and compassionate to yourself. I have not been in your shoes though I can empathize. ❤️ Keep being part of decluttering communities and take one day at a time.
