What factors do you consider when you’re thinking about giving things away to family members, friends, neighbors, or other people you know?If they could possibly want or use the item. I offer things to my three children depending on who I think could have a need or want the item. For example, I offered extra pie plates to the daughter who bakes. My other daughter never bakes.
What factors do you consider when you’re thinking about donating items to a charity, shelter, or unknown recipient?I first try to evaluate if the item is truly donation worthy or needs to go in the trash. Then, my next criteria is how easy and quick is it for me to get it out of the house.
What is your all-time favorite hand-me-down, cast-off, or regifted item?I received a cabinet from my parents years ago that they wanted to part with. It is a staple piece of furniture in my home and we plan to take it when we move. Second, I cross stitched a monopoly board which I framed. I no longer wanted it and was truly OK to throw it away. My daughter and her husband love the game and actually want it.
