What is the “canary in the coal mine” that alerts you that your decluttering and organizing habits are starting to slip? In other words, where does clutter first reappear in your life or your home? | I start stacking things in the laundry room and in the closet. Paper basket on the kitchen counter is filled to overflowing, so I start stacking papers on a kitchen chair. |
What external factors (conditions, circumstances, situations, etc.) or internal conditions (moods, emotional states, health concerns, etc.) tend to disrupt your productive habits and routines or your motivation to declutter and organize? | Illness or even a “bad day” derails my motivation and it takes days to get energized again. |
What was the last item that you decided to keep “just in case”? | A set of three vintage Tupperware canisters. Found a good use for one of them today! It is now in the refrigerator holding all those random and unused condiment packets brought home with carry out food. Question is, will we be more likely to use the condiments now that they’re corralled in one place? 😆 |
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). | Why is it SO HARD to get going again after something comes up, whether illness, visitors, a road trip, or just anything out of the ordinary? What are some baby steps to getting motivated and making progress rather than backtracking? |
