What is the “canary in the coal mine” that alerts you that your decluttering and organizing habits are starting to slip? In other words, where does clutter first reappear in your life or your home? | The bar cabinet in the dining room. which receives overflow from the table if I haven't managed to clear the table of "stuff" before dinner, the magazine basket which receives overflow from the bar cabinet if I can't decide how soon to discard catalogs and magazines and, of course, my desk, which gets every piece of paper that didn't land in the first two places. |
What external factors (conditions, circumstances, situations, etc.) or internal conditions (moods, emotional states, health concerns, etc.) tend to disrupt your productive habits and routines or your motivation to declutter and organize? | Despite my "focus and finish" resolution for 2024, I still wind up with deferred decisions cluttering up my world. Also, my brother lives with me and does not take his mail and paper clutter down to his floor frequently enough. |
What was the last item that you decided to keep “just in case”? | A bag of seed packets in the garage that I never planted and need to check the germination rate on or just dump them on the ground somewhere. |
