PronounsShe/her
Describe an object, collection, or category of items that you’re keeping even though its value, desirability, and/or usefulness to you has significantly diminished over time.> old sweaters, old T-shirts
> old decorations and wall art stored in boxes
> a stash of greeting cards that I pass over, preferring to buy new ones better suited to occasion
Explain your reason or rationale for keeping the thing(s) you described in your answer to the previous question.> I keep old sweaters because I or my mother made them, or the color goes with something, there's nothing really wrong with them, or I "might want to wear it someday" syndrome.
> I keep old decorations/wall art because some were gifts, some are still good/nothing wrong with them, and maybe I'll be inspired to change up the decorations from time to time. (That only happens at Christmas.)
> I like having a stash of greeting cards in case I'm not able to get to the store; surely, eventually, the perfect occasion and the perfect recipient will align.
What’s your favorite thing about summer? And what could you do this week to make more room in your life or your home for your summer fun?I love that it stays lighter longer; if we weren't in a heat wave, I could "allow" myself to let some chores slide, quit work early, and go for a walk in the evening and enjoy watching the stars come out.
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode.Just a comment: after a couple of episodes in which you mentioned cardboard box stockpiling, I've become more diligent about breaking the boxes down as soon as I empty them and putting them in the recycling bin. It's made a noticeable difference in that corner of the basement. 🙂
