Describe an item or collection in your home that represents something important about you or your life. The item(s) may be related to your history, your present life, or your dreams, goals, and desires for the future. My music CD collection. It represents 40+ years of collecting music that still resonate with me today. Over 300 disks, a vast collection which allows me to find exactly what I need to listen to at any one time. They are stored in pretty boxes and just looking at those boxes makes me happy. Opening a box is like travelling to a magic place.
Complete the following statement: “If I had to let go of ___________, it would feel like losing a part of myself.”In truth, I don't think that losing any object would feel like losing a part of myself. I am still me regardless of anything or everything, objects, or living companions (humans, plants, animals). My identity is only linked to myself as a whole entity.
I just don't like decluttering something I know I will have a use for later on.
But, if I had to leave in an emergency, the only "thing" I would ensure to take away with me are my dogs. Everything else, including my plants, could be replaced. I would be sad to lose curated collections and the money they represent, but they only are objects. Not a vital part of who I am.

I live in a small place so I built shelving units, floor to almost ceiling. I added shelves above existing shelves or furniture to add storage. No additional floor space is used but now almost every wall space is covered with shelving, some hidden behind curtains.
When does it becomes too much?
It's just my dogs and I so we don't need much floor space.
