Describe an item in your home that you feel as if you couldn’t live without. What meaning or significance does this item hold for you? What feelings does it evoke? Do you love it? Need it? Use it regularly? Feel a sense of obligation about it? (And so on.)the value is in the memories., not their monetary values...I use these every day, and they are a joy to me. every time I use them or look at them.

1. a large wood trunk that my son surprised me, by making it , from scratch, in shop , in middle school. I will pass this on to my son soon.
2. a tall wood "secretary" furniture, that my mother bought, the year I was born, and the whole family grew up with.
3. several small, glazed candlesticks, ash trays, my sons made in school
If you had to leave your home suddenly with no certainty of ever being able to return, what’s the one thing that you would take with you, and why? For purposes of this question, assume or pretend that you don’t have an emergency evacuation bag or kit prepared, and you only have time to grab one treasured item on your way out the door.the wood trunk my son made in middle school from scratch, and surprised me with. also the glazed candlesticks and ash trays (I do not smoke), my sons made by hand.

I often look at the house decor , when I watch movies. of course, all the clutter is removed. but I respond to certain movie decor . I often think of what movie set, I would like to be living in. that gives me a clear clue about how I would like my home to look like

2. also, when I visit other people's houses, I strongly react to their "stuff". but I keep my opinions to myself.

So Gayle and Ed, which movie set or friend's house, do you wish you were living in?
Future topics

"everything old is new again". in a kitchen, glass is safer to use than silicone. a wood cutting board is better than plastic.
in clothing, cotton is still king. the plastics in microfiber materials gets in our water stream. and that is dangerous.
how ironic....that the only new thing that is an improvement are plastic storage containers and plastic garbage bags., which are superior to the heavy wood crates, or weak cardboard.
