PronounsShe/her
Describe a collection or category of items in your home that you’re worried might have crossed over into “too many” or “too much.”I have my Mother's collection of Willow Tree figurines. There are about 30 right now. They fit on shelf in a curio cabinet so they are not overwhelming, but I know nobody will want them when I am gone. I am trying to whittle it down slowly.
For the category or collection described above, what factor(s) contribute to your assessment of the stash as excessive?Recently had new floors put in and had to empty the curio cabinet. That made me realize how many of them I had, as well as countless other tchotchkes and crystal and china from my Mom and Grandma. I am only child and the oldest grandchild, so I ended up with the stuff.
For the category or collection described previously, what would you consider a reasonable limit? Your answer may take the form of a precise number, a volume of space, a budget, a time commitment, or any other metric that makes sense to you. Optional: Explain how you arrived at this answer.I would think 5 figures, most likely the ones I gifted her. Other items maybe 1 bowl or 1 cup and plate, not 4 cups that are never used.
Describe something that you keep in your space because it reminds you of a better time in your life or a fond memory, even though you might otherwise consider it unnecessary or excessive.Pictures
