Survey #236 Full Response from Katharine
Describe a collection or category of items in your home that you’re worried might have crossed over into “too many” or “too much.” | Cleaning Supplies I acquired cleaning supplies at the time I worked for a company who had us clean renovations, Airbnbs, and move outs etc. Now, it’s only Airbnbs & offices, so I’m not needing so much! Yet, it’s hard to remove items since I use things just not as fast. |

For the category or collection described above, what factor(s) contribute to your assessment of the stash as excessive? | It’s cluttered with supplies on shelves and on the floor next to the shelves. Hard to walk through and in my mind I try to rethink solutions to fix it. I have work laundry that fills up the floor space at times too. I feel “what’s wrong with me? That I have such difficulty managing items in my home?” |
For the category or collection described previously, what would you consider a reasonable limit? Your answer may take the form of a precise number, a volume of space, a budget, a time commitment, or any other metric that makes sense to you. Optional: Explain how you arrived at this answer. | Can it fit with breathing space on the shelves in an orderly manner? What’s the expiration date and can I use it on the surfaces I work on now? Space is finite & I can make decisions.. |
Describe something that you keep in your space because it reminds you of a better time in your life or a fond memory, even though you might otherwise consider it unnecessary or excessive. | Old sewing desk from great grandmother that was in my sister’s house. I have my own collection of sewing machines with cabinets. I’m thankful for the chance to hold it for her until she gets a new place. I remember when it was at her house with our mom’s doll and pictures of family members. So while it’s a pleasant memory, it takes up space that I’m trying to make more of.🤔 |

I overthink often & I have to step away & return at a later time in hopes to try again. Thankfully, I’m going back to the piles in the craft room. I’m making progress lil by lil & progress is really good! |
