Survey #241—Full Response from Sandra

How often are you troubled by clutter in the kitchen and/or pantry? | My kitchen usually has some clutter. |
What sources of clutter or specific issues do you experience in the kitchen or pantry? | Kitchen island tends to become drop spot, pantry and freezer are too full, and... too many cooking books and magazines! |
What organizing solutions or strategies have you tried or used in the kitchen, and how have they worked—or failed to work—for you? | Clearing up island on regular basis works, but not occasional purge of pantry/freezer (empty spaces tend to fill up again), and the magazine I love comes in 6 times a year so this one is still missing a solution. |
What “one-trick pony” resides in your kitchen or pantry? Why do you keep it? | I have a Grandpa Witmer’s Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Mixer and it's staying because it works great. |
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode. | Any ideas for cooking magazines? I pared down my recipe book collection - still have a lot 🙂 - but all those recipes in the magazines with my notes in them and those I want to try, my heart is bleeding. Either I buy a new piece of furniture or start tearing the magazines apart?? There's also a Website/an app where I could save everything and copy my notes but that would be very time consuming. |
Future topics | A quick thank-you for inspiring me to let go of 3 DVD box sets I bought over15 years ago, still brand new in their original wrapping. I'll watch The Sopranos on a digital platform when I'm retired and pay for them when I'm ready to go through it all. I feel terrible that I waited so long but I remember your kind words to all those who make the same mistake. |
