How often are you troubled by clutter in the kitchen and/or pantry? | It’s an occasional problem. |
What sources of clutter or specific issues do you experience in the kitchen or pantry? | The hodgepodge of foods available. I”m recovering from habits of keeping everything on hand to feed a family of 5 without frequent shopping, Now with just 2 of us, I’m slowly moving toward keeping on hand “just what we need” for meals that I’ll prepare in the near future. The fridge and freezer are usually great now, but the dry goods are still out of control. |
What organizing solutions or strategies have you tried or used in the kitchen, and how have they worked—or failed to work—for you? | In the freezer: small plastic baskets keep like with like. There’s a basket with 5 bags of veggies, another with 4-5 protein foods, and one with fruit or hash browns. The baskets make it easy to grab things, and the air flows better in the freezer. It used to be a Tetris puzzle in there! 🙂 |
What “one-trick pony” resides in your kitchen or pantry? Why do you keep it? | My one-trick ponies live on a shelf in my basement, along with seasonal things like pie pans and corn-on-the-cob holders. |
