If you shop in thrift stores, resale shops, charity stores, pawn shops, or other sources of second-hand goods, what kinds of things do you look for? Are there any categories of items that you would ONLY buy used? Any categories of items that you would NEVER buy used? | I enjoy looking for very old pieces of Delft from the Netherlands. After years of collecting, it's identifying the real stuff, (not the items made for tourists,) that is a thrill. It can't be cracked or damaged either. By being very selective means I look way more than buying. When I rarely by it usually is something very unique and I'm much more satisfied with it. Of course I must have a place to put it or I just admire it where it's at in the store. |
If you’ve ever completed a major decluttering project, have you experienced re-cluttering anxiety afterwards? Please describe your experience and how you’ve tried to manage this feeling. | The feeling of stress usually hits me when I get interrupted just before I complete an area. Life happens but the derailment seems to yell at me. |
How often do you deep-clean your kitchen, going above and beyond whatever daily or several-time-a-week routines you maintain? | At least once a month |
What routines or habits have been useful to ensure that your kitchen is always clean? | Load dishes throughout the day. Counters & stove wiped down after supper. |
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode. | Love your massive collection of videos. You & Ed have helped me organize & thin-out my space. It's peaceful & positive. Question: Have you ever addressed decluttering a car? By the way, the "Road Trip" video is a favorite! Great tips & I laughed so hard. So fun! Thanks 👍 |
