If you shop in thrift stores, resale shops, charity stores, pawn shops, or other sources of second-hand goods, what kinds of things do you look for? Are there any categories of items that you would ONLY buy used? Any categories of items that you would NEVER buy used?Anything Mid Century or that would suit my decor. Currently looking for the perfect candle holder and a vase. Clothing very occasionally.
If you’ve ever completed a major decluttering project, have you experienced re-cluttering anxiety afterwards? Please describe your experience and how you’ve tried to manage this feeling. Not really, my spaces quite often get decluttered.
How often do you deep-clean your kitchen, going above and beyond whatever daily or several-time-a-week routines you maintain?Hardly ever
What routines or habits have been useful to ensure that your kitchen is always clean? It generally isn't super clean. I do scrub the sink at least weekly and wipe down under the coffee machine. As I don't cook much it doesn't get that bad. My microwave is reasonably new so easy to wipe out.
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode. What is acceptable behavour from a professional organiser? I am thinking of getting one in. I tried one out last year and she wanted to start with my books. I explained that I had recently decluttered and wanted to start with a few tubs. I decided to trust her process. She kept asking why are you keeping this book? I finally said - I am not justifying every book. In 2 hours we got rid of 1 book. Then she picked up a cat toy and I said I was going to repair it. We actually had a physical tug of war over it. We had a half hour pre session interview the week before and she seemed great. Then she wanted to borrow some of my books, so I did lend her a couple ( although she wanted 4 all up, one which I had not read yet and cost $60). Needless to say I felt it was very intrusive and she never came back. She then said she had worked out I would only need 6 sessions (which I doubt as I have had clutter for years).
What can I expect from a virtual organizer? I tried this once during covid but it was more of a plan rather than specific instructions.
Am I expecting too much?

I think my question is a good topic for this. I am sure others need extra help.
