Survey #246—Full Response from Celina
Describe ways in which clutter has interfered with your ability to entertain visitors or host guests in your home. | I'd sometimed rather meet outside than host people in. But it's also because I'd been renting a single room until very recently and sometimes the place overall didn't look good. |
---|---|
If you could wave a magic wand to make all your clutter disappear or become beautifully organized in an instant, what kinds of entertaining would you like to do in your theoretical “perfect” space? | just craft more and draw and write. Just create art and enjoy the sight of cleaniness. |
What would you consider the bare minimum requirements you’d need to achieve to get your space into shape for entertaining? | A place to sit without me first having to put everything into storage every time, to get rid of chairdrobes, etc. |
How has your concept of entertaining evolved over the years? Do the materials, equipment, and supplies you possess—such as special cookware, extra tableware, serving dishes, decorations, party games, etc.—still support the types of event you’d like to host? | i'm okay with just going out with people. |
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode. | I just wanted to share that I'm moving into my new tiny apartment this weekend (it's Saturday early morning when I'm writing it) and I can't wait to see! It's all the space I have, 140 sqf living room/bathroom/kitchenette + some 5 sqf entresol and I'm curious as to how I'll manage to keep it clean, now that I can't blame any flatmate or "a situation", because everything (the furniture) is for me only and up to me to re-arrange. Some things are left unchanged (due to money) but they're functional - bathroom & kitchenette. However, the living room area and the entresol bedroom are totally re-arranged. It's been a month (since the purchase and refurnishing and cleaning and moving in) of compromise and reality checks - one after another. In the end, I think I'm very happy |
